THE JEGAFLEX SERIES HAS BEEN USED AS A 100% REPLACEMENT OF PVA SINCE 1998.

IT HAS NOT BEEN COMMERCIALIZED WIDELY AS THE PRICE OF PVA UNTIL RECENTLY MADE IT LESS ATTRACTIVE THAN PENFLEX, EVEN THOUGH JEGAFLEX HAS CERTAIN PROPERTIES THAT MIGHT BE MORE SUITABLE FOR THE NEWER AND HIGHER SPEED LOOMS IN THE MARKET TODAY. THE JEGAFLEX SERIES HAS IDENTICAL CHEMISTRY TO THE PENFLEX SERIES. WE WOULD LIKE TO STRESS THIS STRONGLY AS THE PATENT PROTECTION IN EFECT IS BASED ON THIS CHEMISTRY.

JEGAFLEX DECREASES THE DEPENDENCY OF TEXTILE MILLS IN THE USE OF POLYVINYL ALCOHOL (PVA) BY REPLACING PVA ON A KILO [100%] IN SIZING FORMULATIONS FOR SPUN YARNS.

UNFINISHED FABRICS CONTAINING PVA BASED SIZING FORMULAS ARE NOT ACCEPTED BY MANY FINISHING MILLS DUE TO ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS. [DESIZING THESE FABRICS CAN LEAD TO SEVERE FINANCIAL PENALTIES.] JUST AS THE ‘PENFLEX SERIES, THE JEGAFLEX SERIES OF PRODUCTS HAS SOLVED THIS PROBLEM. BY REPLACING PVA WITH JEGAFLEX, YOU WILL ACHIEVE HIGHER WEAVING EFFICIENCIES, A HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF GRADE A FABRICS AT A LOWER COST, AND REDUCTION IN DESIZING COSTS.

DESCRIPTION

JEGA FLEX SERIES OF PRODUCTS CAN BE DELIVERED IN DIFFERENT VISCOSITIES. THEY CAN BE MANUFACTURED TO MATCH THE VISCOSITY OF THE PVA TO BE REPLACED. THEY ARE COMPATIBLE WITH ALL STARCHES, WAXES, LUBRICANTS, ANTISTATIC AGENTS, HUMECTANTS, SURFACTANTS AND OTHER PRODUCTS NORMALLY USED IN SIZING FORMULAS.

JEGA FLEX ALSO CAN REPLACE ALL BINDERS COMMONLY USED IN SIZING FORMULAS SUCH AS CMC, ACRYLICS [BOTH LIQUIDS / POWDER], AND POLYESTER RESINS. JEGA FLEX SERIES CAN BE USED IN NATURAL, SYNTHETIC, OR BLENDED SPUN FIBERS, INCLUDING COTTON, WOOL, SILK, RAYON’S, POLYESTERS, NYLONS, VISCOSE, AND ACETATE.

ADVANTAGES/BENEFITS

THE JEGAFLEX SERIES OF PRODUCTS DIFFERENCES AS COMPARED TO THE PENFLEX SERIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1) THE PENFLEX SERIES PROVIDED A DRY FILM COMPARED WITH PVA. PVA IS ONE OF THE GREAT HYGROSCOPIC AGENTS IN A SIZING FORMULA, ALLOWING THE YARN TO REABSORB HUMIDITY IN THE WEAVE ROOM AS REQUIRED. WHEN ONE REPLACED THE PVA WITH THE PENFLEX ON A 100% BASIS, THE TENDENCY WAS TO GET A FILM THAT WAS DRY IF THE OTHER INGREDIENTS IN THE FORMULA WERE NOT HYGROSCOPIC ENOUGH. THIS DRYNESS LED TO SOME FLAKING THAT WAS AT TIMES NOT AN ACCEPTABLE AND WAS MISCONSTRUED AS DUE TO LACK OF ADHESION.

WITH JEGAFLEX, THE SIZE FILM RETAINS ITS HYGROSCOPICITY OR ABILITY TO REABSORB HUMIDITY EVEN WHEN REPLACING THE PVA 100%. YOU WILL NOTICE ABSOLUTELY NO FLAKING EITHER IN THE FRONT END OF THE SIZING MACHINE OT THE LOOMS DURING THE WEAVING PROCESS. THIS ABILITY TO RETAIN MORE MOISTURE IN THE FILM WILL ALSO RESULT IN A VERY FLEXIBLE FILM NECESSARY IN SPEEDS OVER 1000 RPM’S.

2) WEFT STOPS REDUCED DUE TO AN IMPROVED FIBER LAYDOWN- SEE PICTURES- [the chemistry that provides the ability for better fiber lay down is described in PATENTS 4, 301, 017- 4, 375, 535, - 5, 130, 394]

3) ABILITY TO REPLACE NOT ONLY PVA, BUT OTHER BINDERS IN THE FORMULA TO INSURE LOWER COSTS.

4) EXCELLENT VISCOSITY STABILITY OVER A WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE.

5) IN ADDITION TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PVA, YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO REDUCE OTHER BINDERS IN THE FORMULATION. THIS WILL REDUCE COSTS SUBSTANTIALLY.

6) WITH THE JEGAFLEX SERIES, THE SIZE ADD ONS CAN BE UP TO 20% LESS, STILL PROVIDING ADDITIONAL COSTS SAVINGS.

TECHNOLOGY: WHY CAN YOU WORK WITH LOWER SPU% IN MOST CASES????

JEGA FLEX PROVIDES GREAT IMPROVEMENT IN THE COATING OF THE YARN. ENCAPSULATION IS THE AMOUNT OF SIZE ON THE SURFACE OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE YARN. CONVENTIONAL SIZING PRODUCTS ONLY ENCAPSULATE APPROXIMATELY ONLY 270 DEGREES OF THE YARN SURFACE.

JEGA FLEX ENCAPSULATES APPROXIMATELY 360 DEGREES OF THE YARN SURFACE. THE EFFECT OF THIS COMPLETE ENCAPSULATION MEANS REDUCED SIZE AND FIBER SHEDDING DURING THE OPENING OF THE WARP SHEET AT THE FRONT OF THE SIZING MACHINE. THIS CREATES LOWER HAIRINESS AND RESULTS IN HIGHER WEAVING EFFICIENCIES.

JEGA FLEX, WHEN ADDED AS A PVA REPLACEMENT IN A STANDARD SIZE FORMULA, IMPROVES THE OVERALL PENETRATION OF THE SIZE IN THE YARN BUNDLE. THIS CONTRIBUTES TO A STRONGER YARN WITH REDUCED SHEDDING DURING SIZING AND WEAVING. REDUCED SHEDDING MEANS LESS YARN BREAKS AND BETTER FABRIC QUALITY.

IMPROVEMENTS IN BOTH ENCAPSULATION AND PENETRATION CAN BE CONFIRMED MICROSCOPICALLY.

DUE TO BETTER ENCAPSULATION AND PENETRATION, YARNS SIZED WITH JEGA FLEX IMPROVE FIBER LAY OR HAIRINESS WHICH PROVIDES LESS TENDENCY TO ADHERE OR CLING TO EACH OTHER DURING WEAVING , MAKING FOR A CLEAR OPENING BETWEEN THE WARP SHEETS THAT LEADS TO HIGHER EFFICIENCIES IN WEAVING AND BETTER FABRIC QUALITY.

BASED ON CUSTOMER REQUESTS, WE CAN INCORPORATE OTHER SIZING ADDITIVES IN THE JEGA FLEX PRODUCT EITHER ON A PERCENTAGE DECIDED BY THE CLIENT OR BASED ON OUR APPLICATIONS TECHNOLOGY. WE CAN INCORPORATE WAXES, LUBRICANTS, SOFTENERS, DEFOAMERS, ANTISTATIC AGENTS AND OTHER COMMONLY USED ADDITIVES TO THE PENFLEX PLUS PRODUCT.

DESIZING

JEGA FLEX PROVIDES EXCELLENT DESIZE PROPERTIES. OUR JEGA FLEX TECHNOLOGY IS EASILY REMOVED USING ONLY WATER AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 90 DEGREES C. THE FINAL DESIZE RECIPE WOULD DEPEND, HOWEVER, OF THE DESIZABILITY OF THE OTHER CHEMICALS USED BY THE MILL IN THE SIZE FORMULA.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE

JEGA FLEX PRODUCTS ARE PACKED IN 25 KILO, PAPER BAGS SUITABLE FOR EXPORT. IT IS PREFERABLE TO STORE IN A DRY AREA.

PATENT INFORMATION

AS PER THE PENFLEX SERIES, OUR PATENTED INVENTION IS PROTECTED BY NUMEROUS WORLDWIDE PATENTS INCLUDING USA # 5,707,720 DATED JANUARY 13, 1998. IT PROVIDES A METHOD OF PREPARING A UNIQUE SIZING PRODUCT COMPRISING OF A REACTION PRODUCT OF STYRENE - BUTADIENE COPOLYMER GRAFTED INTO STARCH. THE STYRENE - BUTADIENE COPOLYMER IS MADE SOLUBLE THROUGH THIS REACTION. THE RESULT IS THE PENFLEX - JEGAFLEX SERIES OF PRODUCTS. WE USE THE WORD SERIES AS THE PRODUCTS COME IN DIFFERENT VISCOSITIES TO MATCH THE VARIOUS PVA’S IT IS REPLACING.
