JEGAPER-S 100

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

JEGAPER-S 100 is a dry granular material specially designed to modify PVA, CMC, Starch or Blends of these materials to improve their adhesion, film properties, and overall sizing characteristics especially when applied to polyester, polyester cotton blends & 100% Cotton .

CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS

JEGAPER-S 100 is a dry polyester containing neutralizing agents, partitioning aids, and defoamers designed specially to be used as any other dry sizing agent in quantities from 20% on weight of the size formula.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

JEGAPER-S 100 has unique properties which bind Starch and PVA to 100% Polyester and Polyester /Cotton yarns.

JEGAPER-S 100 sizing systems give yarn excellent protection and have significantly increases weaving efficiencies in commercial mill trials.

JEGAPER-S 100 should be slurried in cold water with agitation and heated to 85ºC - 95ºC for 30 minutes. When large quantities are used or when it is beneficial to prepare a 20% solution of the resin, it should be heated slowly from 85ºC - 95ºC to prevent initial foam generation that occurs during neutralization. Recommended uses are from 5-20% on the weight of the basic size used. The product should be kept dry and sealed up when not in use. If stored in this matter chemical and physical properties are preserved and storage life is indefinite.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

JEGAPER-S 100 is designed with chemical characteristics which bind PVA, CMC, and starch to polyester fiber and polyester/cotton fibers, as well as enhancing the cohesive strength of these materials.

CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS

JEGAPER-S 100 is a polyester resin , containing no solvents or diluents.

PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

JEGAPER-S 100 has unique properties which bind starch and PVA to 100% polyester and polyester/cotton yarns.

JEGAPER-S 100 sizing systems give yarn excellent protection and have significantly increased weaving efficiencies in commercial mill trials.

JEGAPER-S 100 should be added at any part of the cook up cycle. Recommended uses are 10-30% on the weight of basic size used.

STORAGE STABILITY

JEGAPER-S 100 should be stored between 0 and 40ºC. Storage temperature above 40ºC will cause caking of the product. For best results this product should be used within 1 year of manufacture. JEGA International makes no guarantee of results, nor assumes any liability for damages incurred after this period.

  (1) Instron – Pounds of pull to break film.
  (2) Instron – Percent stretch to reach maximum stress.
  (3) Instron – Percent stretch at break point.

The above data reflects JEGAPER-S 100 as being twice as strong as conventional binders, like acrylics, it gives double the yield and 37% greater elongation.

** All films were cast .0075 inch in thickness and conditioned for 122 hours @ 76% relative humidity.

ADHESION TO POLYESTER

JEGAPER-S 100 has excellent adhesion to polyester fibers. Films were cast on “mylar” and ranked for adhesion. A ranking system was used with:
1 = No adhesion
To 10 = No removal possible.

DESIZABILITY

JEGAPER-S 100 requires no additives, only water to remove it. In fact, it is so water soluble that it enhances the desizability of the other sizing agents making the fabric easier to scour with less time spent.
